On December 14th, 2016 Sky Community Partners hosted its 2nd Annual Stars in the Sky Awards Reception. The purpose of this event was to raise funds for our organizational programs as well as honor our corporate, community and individual partners that have made a significant impact in the community.

Sky honored Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter of the legendary Roots Band, as our Person of the Year for his continued work in underserved communities across the country, including the Philadelphia community. We also honored UHS of Fairmount as our Corporate Partner of the Year, and Saint Monica Catholic Elementary School and Mercy Career & Technical High School as our Community Partners of the Year. These organizations were recognized for their work and positive impact in underserved communities throughout the city of Philadelphia.

“Sky is committed to establishing productive partnerships with individuals and organizations who share our determination to improve the quality of life for all Philadelphians,” Chavous said.  “We actively seek out those who are committed to changing the status quo.”
